Ashfall Protocol Season 4 “Dry Season” adds Kestrel Flats and resets the ranked ladder
Vantage Point Games today began Season 4 of Ashfall Protocol, titled “Dry Season”. The season adds Kestrel Flats, a high-desert map built around three long approach lanes and a single covered objective, and applies a partial reset to the ranked ladder. All players return to placement matches; prior season rank is retained on the profile.
Season 4 also includes a marksman rifle handling pass, a revised spotting model for prone targets at range, and a rework of the end-of-round scoreboard so that objective contribution is visible separately from kills. Full patch notes are published in-game and on the Steam store page.
Seasons for Ashfall Protocol run roughly four months. Season 4 is scheduled to close in December 2026.

Vantage Point Games selects Cerberus for closed-beta anti-cheat on Ashfall Protocol
Vantage Point Games has selected Cerberus as the anti-cheat provider for Ashfall Protocol and has joined the provider’s closed beta programme. The decision follows an evaluation focused on ranked ladder integrity, and in particular on hardware-based cheating: direct memory access devices that read game state from a second machine and are, by design, not visible to detection that runs only in usermode.
Cerberus ships as a kernel-mode driver. On Ashfall Protocol it loads when the game launches and unloads when the game exits; it is not resident on the machine at other times, and the studio’s support pages document what runs, when it runs, and how to verify it. Vantage Point Games considers that disclosure a condition of shipping kernel-mode software to players.
“We have known for a while that DMA devices are in our ranked matches, and until now we have had no way to look at the hardware layer at all,” said Priya Malhotra, Lead Anti-Cheat Engineer at Vantage Point Games. “What we are hoping for from this beta is visibility first — evidence we can actually act on — and then enforcement. We will report what we find, including if it does not work.”
Cerberus is in closed beta and the rollout is staged. Detection is being enabled through the ranked playlist first, in phases, with unranked and co-op modes unaffected during the beta period.

Vantage Point Games appoints Marcus Reyes as Live Operations Producer
Vantage Point Games has appointed Marcus Reyes to the newly created role of Live Operations Producer. Reyes joins with responsibility for the Ashfall Protocol season calendar, the weekly live review, and coordination between the design, engineering, and community functions during a season.
The role was created in response to the pace of live operations since Ashfall Protocol’s 2024 release, which the studio had been running through its existing production team. Reyes reports to Studio Director Ruth Halvorsen.
The studio has 38 staff and expects modest growth through 2026. Current openings are listed at vantagepointgames.com/careers.

Longshadow Company re-release to be distributed in partnership with Ninebar Collective
Vantage Point Games and independent publishing label Ninebar Collective have agreed a distribution partnership covering a PC re-release of Longshadow Company, the studio’s 2019 squad-level tactical campaign. The re-release brings the game to the studio’s current Unreal Engine 4 toolchain, adds native ultrawide support and a rebuilt options menu, and restores four-player co-op on modern network conditions.
The partnership covers storefront and localisation work only. Vantage Point Games retains full ownership of the title and continues to develop it in-house. Existing owners receive the re-release at no cost.
There are no console plans. Longshadow Company remains a PC title.
